Drug Utilization Pattern of Anti-Diabetic Medication: A Prospective Observational Study

Background: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease and responsible for the significant morbidity mortality. It critical to conduct drug use research of anti-diabetic medications in order encourage rational diabetes.
 Objective: The purpose this study was analyze pattern antidiabetic drugs, as well prevalence diabetes related risk factors throughout treatment period our sample group.
 Materials & methods: This prospective observational involving 200 secondary care hospital in-patients. During 6-month period, prescribing studied assessed, drug-related difficulties subsequent patients were report.
 Results: Among patients, 111 (55.46%) male 89 (44.5%) female. Subject age 65-80 (n=73) observed be more suspected. Hypertension 130 (61.32%) most common factors. In cases, commonly used therapy monotherapy subjects followed by combination 55(27.5%). Insulin 192(54.5%) oral drugs 160 (45.4%). usually prescribed metformin, glimepiride, while metformin+glimepiride.
 Conclusion: Prescribing diabetic concluded that optimized led minimal ensuing DRPs. A continuous observation reporting practice can help physicians result therapeutically effective patients.
